FEEDBACK
ASAK,
I am attaching herewith picture that I took today
with our E3 Classmate Imtiaz Ahmed.
Thanks to Asif Ahmed from Canada who gave Imtiaz
my Phone Number and sent me
Imtiaz's Son's Cell Number via e-mail.
Imtiaz had a very busy Schedule but I managed
to meet him at his Son- Ahson's
Place Just when he was departing San Francisco
on his way Back to Pakistan
this afternoon.
It was really nice to spend about
2 hours with him. This Picture was taken
so that all of us
may share.
Will greatly appreciate feedback from
all .
This is my May e-mail connection for all DCET
(E3) as we had discussed a
couple of months Back.
BTW, I happened to see Hamid Jamal Zubairy's
name on the CBM or similar
Business School' Website which I believe to be
Located in Korangi - Karachi
Pakistan. Hamid is a Faculty member
there. It was very refreshing to review that Schools curricula and
their programs. I am hoping that I have got his e-mail correct and
he gets this message. Would like to get news from him.
Would like to take this opportunity to Request
Imtiaz to get whereabouts of
Class mates who are in Pakistan or Middle East
so that Farrukh's Webpage list
(at least E3) is updated and we can get
an update of the 24 E3.
If the e-mail adddress are correct and you receive
this Picture then Please
respond to my Home e-mail.
which is Listed: ManzerT@aol.com . The Reason
is that I get too many e-mail
at ST and also normally do not use this for Personal
e-mail.
I am using this as I did not want to Procrastinate
and then wait to send this
image from Home Computer.
Please Do not hesitate to contact me for any info
or help from the Silicon Valley.
Allah Hafiz

Dear Organizer:
In my view One of the main objective of this database should be to bring
back the OLD DCETians , fellows and friends in to one plateform specially
who are working abroad in canada and USA, in order to be share their memories,
experiences, knowledge and problems.

Kashif Nisar
Assalam Alaikum,
.. I have managed to get e-mail of some of the DCET graduates of past
years. I thought it may be a "GOOD IDEA" to get re-acquaited
with each other.
Farrukh Saleem has set up a Website based upon E3 graduates. Would
like to use this occassion to give everyone the URL to visit thgi site
and pass this information to other DCET Graduates of your graduating Class.
http://dcetgrads.nav.to/
Having Studied at DCET and also having taught there; I feel sad at times
at the State and Status of our "Alma Mater".
Many of us in this list got our start from this institution.
I would like ideas and ways to help this institue back on this track.
We can all take this occasion of "THE GREAT SACRIFICE " and the Sacrificing
Spirit of Hazrat IBrahim and Hazrat Ismail to think of also coming
with funds and other ideas as well as means to "co-ordinate" an activity
whereby
we could help DCET.
Let us all think and use our knowledge and experience and
do some thing constructive. Here are some thoughts:
1) Let us all who are in U.S.a and Canada and those in Pakistan
or Mid East who atre now settled and have acccess to e-mail and
Internet at least propogate Farrukh's dedication and pioneering
work for this website and
register our current e-mails.
2)All persons that have registered should at least get together and
send each ones's current Status and start aprocess to get in touch
at least once amonth.
3) Brain storm ideass and come up with a process or methodology
to help our
"Alma Mater" in some constructive way.
4) Giving something provides a satisfaction that can not
be measured in "monetary terms".
5)We can form teams in U.S.A, Canada, Middle East and Pakistan
based upon "Volunteers" in terms of Both " Donors" of Funds as well
as "Time".
I would be more than happy to help such Volunteer effort in the "California
Silicon Valley".
Lastly, I want to apologise if any one in this list is offended due
to any reason on these suggestions.
I had hoped that DCET would have been of the same stature and Calibres
as the IIT ( Indian Institute Of Technologies) in India.
And I feel that given the current push for IT in Pakistan , it would
be a good time to gather the Knowledge and Experiencve of OLD DCET Grads
to help and get more involved in DCET than we have been.
Please provide me with your comments, suggestions, criticisms and any
thoughts.
Also forward me e-mails of others from your class with some particulars..
Yours Truly

Reply from Asif Ahmad, DCET Website Coordinator
Dear Friends, Asalam O alikum
I fully endorse Manzer's views. We have been living for ourselves all
our lives, and have never considered any payback to the College, the institution,
which brought us together and to the position we are currently in . we
certainly owe this to both DCET and our group. If any body can come
up with any suggestion to help in any way both the college, our friends
in the group, then these suggestions should be discussed and recommendations
should be made, perhaps by a committee to implement such ideas, maybe I
am
dreaming, but you have to start somewhere, after all we all dreamed
and here we are!!
The groups thoughts and suggestions are most welcome!! For a start,
lets follow what Manzer has recommended.
Manzer;s and Furrukh's devotion and sincerity to the group are certainly
plausible.
Best wishes to all and look forward on hearing further from all you
folks out there.
I end with my prayers of health and happiness to you all.
As ever,
Asif Ahmed
....I will try to get you the email addreses of some of the others.
Abdul Muhammad and yourself are also founders of IEEE Pakistan Chapter
Nadir Ali Pasha, first batch 1968, died recently of heart attack. He
was
earlier at Phillips.
Javed Khan, 1968, is head of IT Services at AKUH Karachi
Shabbir Baxamoosa, 1968, is head of UBL Computer division
Akbar Adil, 1973 ?, is Personnel manager IBM Pakistan
Many of my classmates are in USA/Canada
Ramazan Mubarak to all\
Humayun
....you are doing an excellent job. Group Photo E4 reminded me of our
good old days.
It is hard to believe that 26 years have passed. Time flies, doesn't
it?
Rafat K. Chaudhry
I beleive you live in Canada.
I am looking for an old DCET grad. His name is Aziz Abde-Ali and he
was
in DCET from 1970 to 1975, E5 or C5. Last I know he moved from Jeddah
to
Torranto, Canada.
Could you, please, find him and let me know his phone number, email,
and
home address?
Thanks,
Javed Hussain
...I must congratulate and thank Farukh Saleem and Asif Ahmed for putting
this DCET Alumini together. Great Team work.
The E3 Photograph, was a great idea. I bet most of us will not be recognized
today based on that Photo. Except for a few, like Asif and others. Last
year when I saw Farukh on TV in Missisauga, he had no hair.
Tahir Ali (TA)
...once again I must congratulate you on your iniiative and good work.
It is with pioneeing effort with people like you and Asif that something
worthwhile but with little commercial aspect gets done.
I would suggest that in the Data that you are collecting, in addition
to Technology , the person should also be asked to put in the year of his/her
graduation (not the batch) eg we passed our final year Chemical in
1979 but we were from the batch of 1977. We should put in our info as Chemical
1979.Once a person signs on, he should be sent a welcome email like you
sent me but also asking him/her if they have any photograph of their final
year class and if they do, a scanned image should be sent.. In this way
your library of photo for each batch will also build up.
I would also suggest that you ask for the professional details of each
graduate of where they work This would also be useful.
Will keep in touch but a good way would be to broadcast a monthly message
to all registered users.
Regards
Shahzad
.....I must say, it is an excellent effort on
Furrukh;s part to come up with this homepage for DCET graduates. Loved
the memory lane....brought a lot of old memories.
Keep up the good work and gather as much data
as you can, and all class-mates are requested to contribute to this site
so that we may be at-least socially active within this group. We actually
owe it to each other due to our long association now spanning more than
30 years!!.Second request, if any body has Rashid Malik s; coordinates
please let me and Furrukh know. In-spite of the internet I have been unable
to trace him.
Manzer recently had a mild heart problem, I am
sure all of you will join me in wishing him a speedy recovery.
My sincere wishes of health and happiness to
you and your families
